What We Learned Today May 12th

- The Seahawks are looking like legitimate contenders to repeat. Even though Shelton still throws a few too hard he's definitely been working on it while not losing much effectiveness, add Boles to this team and there's no denying they have a great chance at walking away with the 2012 title.

- The Sharks may be the best offensive team in the league, when they're hot it's hard to find another team that can keep up with their run production as was shown in their 18-2 thrashing of the Classics.

- Cameron Cecil has added a big time personality to the Sharks and WWFB. He also could turn into a top tier player the more he adjusts to the sport.

- Cecil also thrust himself to the top of the list of favorites to win a Gold Glove with his sick fielding play where he doubled up Christian.

- Matt Haas and Dylan Gibson are slumping early as they combined for just one homerun in 19 at bats.

- The Raiders look much closer to the bottom of the league than the top of it as their only win was a win they barely squeaked out on the back of two Hartsook fielding errors.

- Speaking of Dan I think the Sharks will definitely miss him in a big way this season for the games he can't show up.

- Taylor Ray may be the most consistent hitter in the league as he hit .675 only struck out twice and launched four homers.

- Michael Gibson and Jonathan Shelton may finally give us the homerun race the WWFB league has craved since its existence. They both finished today with 7 homeruns.

- Don't let Christian Martin's ERA fool you, his consistent pitching was a big reason the Classics walked away 2-1 today.

- Jonathan Shelton may challenge him for that CY Young award this year however.

- Jared Hall stepped up big time for the Classics today showing a major clutch gene in helping them defeat the Seahawks.

- Cameron Cecil and Carey Loggins should have a pretty good race for rookie of the year this season.
- Brandon Buck showed when he does hit the ball it's gonna leave the ball park as he showed off his strength in a win over the Sharks.

- The minor league system has allowed the league to be a lot more competitive there was no one out there that didn't look like they had the skills to compete.

- There's a lot of potential for Sam McCutcheon and Daniel Lawson to become very good players in this league as they showed flashes in their first bit of Water Wiffle Ball action today.

- I think adding Will Essick to the Sharks should keep them bashing the ball and add another arm to the pitching staff.

- If the Raiders can get out of their slump I think this will be a heck of a season and all four teams have a very legitimate shot at being World Series Champions which should lead to an unbelievable post season.

- The new umpiring system has really cut down on fights and arguments over calls so far without diminishing the competitiveness of the league.

- 27 Regular Season Games left means there's a lot of time for things to change and a lot of time for you to put your face on the league and create some great moments for yourself and your team as you strive to come away with the 2012 championship.
