A new Water Wiffle Ball season is fastly approaching (the pool will be open early May) so I'm gonna start tackling some questions and listing my preseason favorites for the all star teams, home run leaders, cy young, mvps, and of course the world series.
So first question can the Sharks repeat as World Series Champions?
The Sharks return the majority of their 2010 team that caught fire in the playoffs after being down 2-0 in the divisional best of 5 series against the Baileys and went all the way to a World Series title winning 7 consecutive games. They do however lose their 3rd best player Dan Hartsook who hit 9 homers in the regular season and who was unbelievably clutch in Game 4 of the Baileys series with the score tied 6-6 in the bottom of the 3rd with one out Dan smacked a walk off homerun to win the game 7-6 and push the series to a deciding game 5. For that Dan will always be a legend in Shark town. Unfortunately opening day Dan will play against the Sharks as he suits up for T+C.
That leaves a big hole in the three spot but with C.Moran's pitching and his batting combined with M.Gibson's batting this team has to still be one of the favorites to win the whole thing in 2011. The Sharks will hope that C.Hayworth or M.Broadway can step in and provide production at the 3 spot. Regardless no one has the pitching C.Moran provides when he is on so I say look for this team to win the National League and be right back in the World Series and maybe even get to 20 wins in the regular season.
